We have a huge interest in Paul Hanagan winning the championship (5pts in total at 40/1 plus the handicap bet) so I think it's time today to have 5pts on Richard Hughes at 14/1 with either Bet365 or Stan James.
Total winners up to last night were:-
Paul Hanagan 85
Richard Hughes 73
Ryan Moore 72
At the time of writing RH has ridden a double at Newmarket to move onto 75. I have a feeling he could be the danger to Paul Hanagan rather than the odds-on Ryan Moore. If Moore gets much further behind he may not relish the chase having already been champion jockey for three of the last four seasons. Also he's won the Oaks and Derby this season which I imagine means a lot more to him than the numerical count.
We've had a winning World Cup irrespective of the outcome of our last remaining open bet - 3pts on Holland at 10/1 - so I shall not be placing or recommending any hedging bets on their opponents for the final. Whether it's Spain or Germany our team will start as underdogs. I'd expect Spain or Germany to be priced around 4/6 to lift the Cup so you could have 5pts on the opposition if you wanted to save your Holland stakes. Incidentally if you placed your Holland bet with Stan James you will get it back if Spain lifts the Cup as this was their concession at the start of the event.
